Elopements & Intimate Weddings
As I attempt to catch up on the last few years of blogs, why not start by throwing it back to this dream Tucson elopement??
This elopement was a perfect example of why I recommend doing full-day elopement coverage. J & A elected not to short-change themselves on time. Not only were we able to do everything they wanted, but we never felt rushed even once.
Most of my work was at home in good old Tucson! So many wonderful Tucson elopements, sessions, and proposals. Which I’m absolutely thrilled about. I love when I get to stay at home, but more importantly, I LOVE that so many people appreciate Tucson as the gorgeous destination that it is! I love traveling for work, but it seems I’m starting to specialize as a Tucson elopement photographer, and I’m here for it.
Well, friends…
Here we are, at the end of another year!

…if I forget about those things for a moment and think only about what I experienced personally… it was a great year. My best business year to date, my best adventure year (10 national parks! among other adventures!), a year of seeing friends and family again and making new friends, and a year of discovering this new place that I live in and love.
Ahhh Arizona… it’s no secret how beautiful this place is. But when planning something in the outdoors here, one needs to remember that it can also be pretty harsh. From weather extremes to unfriendly wildlife to the pokey prickly plants. When planning your Arizona elopement, you have to take these things into account and plan accordingly!
Adventurous Couples & Engagements
These two adorable adventurers came at me saying all my favorite things. “We’d like to do a sunrise but also some shots at night if we can.” Ummmmm yes, please! I get why some photographers would prefer to do all consecutive coverage. But personally, I love mixing things up and doing multiple times of day with the same couple. I don’t mind leaving home more than once in a day, especially if it’s to go to different places with different lighting and get to make the absolute most of what beautiful Tucson has to offer.

I’m so excited to share this double session of these two Arizona adventurers! Allison and Zack love Arizona and wanted their engagement photos to showcase an incredible part of the state. They were hoping to do their Grand Canyon engagement session in a couple different spots. So I suggested that, to maximize golden hour light, we do a sunset AND a sunrise session! Each at different spots that are respectively perfect for those times of day.

“What can I say? Lucy is amaze. We had an engagement session with her a year before our wedding on the recommendation of a friend. We loved her chill vibe and the way she helped us feel more relaxed in front of the camera and still ourselves. She came back to Chicago again to photograph our wedding in June 2022. As an art director, I had a big vision of a vividly colored wedding day. She captured the colors and feel of the day so beautifully. She's great at capturing candid moments and moves around spaces without being intrusive. We've gotten so many compliments on the photos and everyone loved that they didn't seem forced or posed. If you want beautiful, documentary-style photos you can't go wrong with Lucy!”
